Accelerated Graduate Pathways for Missouri S&T Undergraduates

Thinking about graduate school? Missouri S&T offers two flexible programs that allow current undergraduates to begin earning graduate credit before completing their bachelor’s degree. Through the Grad Track Pathway (GTP) and Dual Enrollment, you can take graduate-level courses early and apply them toward a future certificate, master’s, or Ph.D. program.

These pathways are designed to help you explore advanced coursework, save time, and build momentum toward your graduate goals—whether you’re continuing in your current field or exploring a new one. Many of S&T’s graduate programs are open to students from different majors, giving you the freedom to shape a path that aligns with your interests.

If graduate school is part of your future, GTP and Dual Enrollment offer a smart, streamlined way to get started—while you’re still finishing your undergraduate degree.

Grad Track Pathway (GTP)

GTP allows you to take graduate-level courses that count toward both your undergraduate and graduate degrees at S&T. These courses are taken for undergraduate credit now but can be applied to your graduate program once you complete your bachelor's degree and are officially admitted and transitioned into the graduate program. Through the GTP, you’ll receive conditional admission to the graduate program and pay no extra tuition, since the courses are already required as part of your bachelor’s degree.

What to Know:

  • Available track for graduate certificates, master’s, and Ph.D. programs at S&T.

  • Courses (5000- or 6000-level) fulfill requirements for both degrees.

  • Credit is recorded as undergraduate credit and must be used at S&T.

  • You must begin your graduate program the semester after finishing your bachelor’s (or within one year if pursuing a master’s).

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment allows you to earn graduate credit during your final one to two semesters as an undergraduate. These courses are taken in addition to your regular undergraduate coursework and do not count toward your bachelor’s degree requirements. They can be applied to a future graduate certificate, master’s, or doctoral program. This flexible option is ideal for students who want to explore graduate-level study or get a head start on an advanced degree without committing to a specific program right away.

What to Know:

  • You must be enrolled in at least three credit hours that count toward your bachelor’s degree.

  • Courses are recorded as graduate credit and will appear on your graduate transcript and degree audit.

  • Graduate credit may be applied to a future S&T graduate program (within catalog time limits) or potentially transferred to another institution.
